The recent Policy Convention was a great success!

The policy meeting took place in Edmonton, on Saturday, September 30th.  Although the group worked diligently we had more proposed motions than we could get through in the day.  Some of the highlights concerned recognition of Indigenous rights and the urgency Greens feel about better addressing them.  There was also a motion passed expressing the GPA’s disapproval of hosting the 2016 Winter Olympics and one calling for the provincial government to adopt a sustainability framework for Alberta’s municipalities.

The five leadership candidates formed a panel in the afternoon and answered questions on a wide range of issues posed to them by those attending the convention.

All of the motions passed at the meeting will soon be posted on the GPA’s web site under greenpartyofalberta.ca/policies/
