Romy Tittel's response to accusations against Ms. Elizabeth May

In response to this Toronto Star article published today regarding accusations from former staff towards Ms. Elizabeth May, MP Saanich-Gulf Islands and Green Party of Canada leader. I can unequivocally say that in all of my personal dealings with Ms. May she has shown me only generosity, concern and empathy.

I do however, respect any individuals right to voice their concerns and I hope a full investigation is made to address these accusations.

These issues that have arisen in recent months only highlights the need for all of us to consider our actions. It also shows that we must be able to express our concerns in a timely manner so that all parties involved can seek resolution in a fair and just manner.

Every organization, whether public or private must make space for a safe and effective mechanism to address any complaints.

  • Vanessa Brustolin is a disgruntled former employee who was fired after only three months on the job. I think that speaks for itself.

  • I’ve known EM since she was elected Leader of the GPC. In all that time (and especially when I was CEO of the ill-fated EDA of Calgary West) we had only a good relationship and certainly no bad temper or shouting. I have the utmost respect for EM … far more so than for the other party leaders! I still stand by EM4PM.
