Emergency Town Hall: Why Progressives Can Win in 2019

January 11 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Calling all Calgary based organizers, activists and political types. If you don’t want to see Jason Kenney as the next premier of Alberta this event is for you.

The 2019 provincial election is right around the corner and Calgary will be the most important electoral battleground. We need to come together at this critical time to figure out how to defeat Jason Kenney.

Speakers include:

  • Duncan Kinney of Progress Alberta
  • Melanee Thomas, political science professor at the University of Calgary
  • Zain Velji, political strategist, VP Strategy at Northweather and he most recently served as Naheed Nenshi’s campaign manager. Also the former host of the Strategists podcast (RIP).

This event is a fantastic opportunity to meet other politically connected Calgarians, to swap battle plans and tactics and to learn from political veterans. After the speakers’ brief messages we will be breaking out into groups with note takers and moderators based around issues and strategies. At the end of the night we will have a brief report back from Duncan Kinney on what happened in the breakout groups.

Please RSVP as space is limited. Tickets are free but please pay what you can. Donations are encouraged. If you don’t have a credit card or otherwise can’t make a donation please RSVP to executivedirector@progressalberta.ca

The venue is physically accessible. There will be gender neutral bathrooms. You’re welcome to bring kids however no child minding will be provided.

Drinks afterwards at Bottlescrew Bills.
